Holmdel High Jazz Band Director & Music Technology Educator

In a rapidly changing, technology-driven world, it is essential that students have opportunities to make music together and to discover their own creative voices.

As an educator, I am deeply committed to providing these opportunities — helping students grow as musicians, collaborators, and creators. Whether through live performance or digital composition, my goal is to foster an environment where every student feels inspired to explore, take risks, and express themselves through music.

About Mr. Koryat

John Koryat currently serves as the Jazz Band Director and Music Technology Instructor at Holmdel High School and William R. Satz Middle School in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Mr. Koryat has been an integral part of the Holmdel music program since 2005, directing and inspiring student musicians across multiple ensembles and grade levels.

Program Leadership

In 2013, Mr. Koryat founded the Music Technology Department at Holmdel High School, developing a cutting-edge program that integrates audio production, digital composition, and modern recording techniques. He continues to teach both high school and middle school music technology courses, helping students explore the intersection of creativity and technology in music.

Mr. Koryat is currently taking private students on Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute.
